Wow everyone! I am overwhelmed and really encouraged by everyone's comments. Thank you so much. Yes, this REALLY is my first quilt on the longarm. I had a practice sandwich on the rack for the first couple of months I had it. Here is a link to when I was playing around with that. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-54832-1.htm

When I used up that practice sandwich I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into a "real" quilt. It took me another couple of weeks to piece the back. I think it did help that I wasn't crazy about the top. So I really was loose and tried a lot of different things I probably would have been hesitant to try if I treasured the top. This one gave me a ton of confidence along with all of your inspiring comments. Still need work on my feathers before I attempt those. I will practice those on paper and once I feel like I can draw them in my sleep I will put them on a quilt with the LA.

Regarding the colors, I think the greens in it is what put me off. They just didn't seem to "play nicely" with the blacks, peaches and rusty terra cotta colors. Even though there were elements of peach and terra cotta in both green prints. They just kind of put me off everytime I looked at the top. I have promised it to a really good friend. Once it is bound I will try making a paste of Oxiclean one more time to try and get that stain out. Of course the guilty cat (who has long since gone on to rainbow bridge) picked a white part to regurgitate on.

For those that were curious I have a 26" throat ABM Innova on a 10 ft frame. And yes, once I feel that I am good enough to take on quilting for others I most definitely will do what I can to make other peoples hard work look even more beautiful.

Thanks again everyone.

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful quilt. What's not to love about the colors? The black border REALLY ties everything together. The quilting, well, you are in the expert category, no doubt about that.

Thankfully, we can't smell the cat puke here on this message board, but apparently that turned out well, too.

I think this is a prime example of "we are our own worst critics." You did a terrific job on this quilt and, from the comments on this thread, everyone else thinks so, too. So congratulations on a job really well done!
