Hi Everyone: I know how much I enjoy all your pics; so I hope you enjoy these. The quilt is my first attempt; just 11.5 inch blocks. But I had a double size chenille bedspread that I cut up and incorporated. Boy, did it do a number on my rotary cutter!
The second is a small table top that I used both flannel and cotton.

I will post pictures of the next two projects I am working on when done.

God Bless all, and keep stitching!

Love both your quilts. I really want to do a table topper, but am afraid the cats would slide it off the table. LOL    I really love the chenille quilt. The effect is wonderful. Now I want to try it too.

Both of them are great! Love the use of Chenille in the bed spread! Great job!

Marcia 10-31-2008 05:28 AM

Both of your projects are great. Did the chenille ravel a lot? I have always been afraid to use it because I thought it would.

reneebobby 10-31-2008 05:31 AM

WOw are they nice.

Mrs. Mel 10-31-2008 08:30 AM

Thank you everyone for your kind words. The chenille unravelled a little bit; had lots of 'fluff' on the floor after cutting, but not too bad.

Mplsgirl 10-31-2008 08:34 AM

Wow! First attempt? You rock!

nancee 10-31-2008 12:36 PM

They are beautiful!! I am working on my first as well but it is only a table runner. I am nervous to do anything too big yet! But seeing what you have done I may get the nerve up! Maybe!

they look great. Wonderful work on both.

GailG 11-03-2008 06:36 AM

Congratulations. You did a fantastic job!! I love the colors in the table runner. I am partial to the chenille. Chenille reminds me of my childhood. (We were forbidden to JUMP ON THE BED that had the chenille spread on it. My sister and I loved to bounce on that bed.)

sandpat 11-07-2008 04:55 PM

I hadn't thought of that use for the chenille...that turned out great! I love it...almost a shabby chic isn't it??

Thanks for sharing!

Mrs. Mel 11-07-2008 05:18 PM

Thanks all. You are all so encouraging. And I was kinda trying to go for the shabby chic look, Sandpat; a combination of that and cottagey look.

mfre42day 11-07-2008 05:51 PM

I love newbies! Great quilts really love them both, but I am especially taken with your pillows! If I ever get my roof fixed I'm gonna get a full sized bed and I believe that your bed quilt and pillows will be perfect!
you should be tired of it by then right????

Renee 11-07-2008 06:27 PM

They are both very pretty, you did beautifully!

The small pillows were made from a lace table runner and an old dress with lace collar. If I am tired of it by then, I promise you will be first in line to have it. :)
