Sewed all my life but never quilted. Bought the fabric on a whim on vacation in 2004. Let it "age" in my sewing room until Jan 2010. It's for a double bed, I didn't want a pillow tuck so I made matching shams. now I'm gonna go figure out how to create an avatar.

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

granky 12-26-2010 03:07 PM

Geeze! If 'aging' fabric will do that, think I'll hide my stash for a while! Very nice!

PaperPrincess 12-26-2010 03:15 PM

Didn't post the shams 'cause they have problems. I quilted the tops the same way I did the quilt, SID around the squares and channel quilted around a grey border. They just don't 'lay' well on the bed. I'm going to take them apart and line them with a slippery fabric so the pillows don't get bunched up inside. I'm also going to add something around the edges. Not sure the correct term, not a ruffle... a flange?? Too tailored a design for a ruffle. If they come out nicely, I'll post images.
Oh and thanks so much for all your kind comments!! love this board!!!!
