Very pretty holiday quilt. The fabric you chose worked out very nicely. But, you know what, most any quilt we make has challenges. They take different forms and challenges for one person are a breeze for someone else. But, each of us needs to work through the challenges to complete our quilt.

:D I've had that happen to me too! It was really quiet and all of a sudden, "boing" and right off the table!

Lacey Colbert of Quilts & Quilts designed several patterns using strips, both jelly rolls & using strips of different sizes. She's also created some chenille type quilts that I'd really like to try.

Thanks for the heads up...I have not done a rag quilt yet. Yours is very festive.

This is lovely, but I'm not a fan of either rag quilts or chenille quilts. Maybe that means that I really dislike LINT a LOT.

Your quilt is very pretty. My very first quilt was a rag quilt, and I encountered the same issues. It was a twin, and very heavy also. But, the 40's colors and prints were so sweet, and my GD loved it, so it made the effort worth it. I'd never attempt another one, but on the upside, it was my first quilting project, and I was hooked on the process.

I like your rag quilt. You did a fine job! There is A LOT of lint the first few times through the dryer-empty the lint trap every 5 minutes, then titrate it to every 10 minutes as needed. I love my fiscars rag quilt snips. Well worth the cost.

My late sister made rag quilts all the time....but only in squares. And she used a Fiskar brand of nippers...they have a much shorter blade.

It turned out great! My first two I made, I snipped by hand but then I splurged for a Go die for my Go cutter. So much easier but only made one since I bought the die. I really like them so someday I will make more of them
