I agree.

How about using more than one color of thread. I like the quilting thread to match the area being quilted. I see blue, red, yellow, and green.

If you use just one color, consider using a yellow or gold--I have found it blends in with most colors.

Beautiful.

Now that is some fine beginner work. You are going to have some major masterpieces in your future. This one is breath taking. Try a medium gray thread for quilting. Just pull off a few yards of thread and let it puddle on the quilt. That is the best way I've found to audition colors.

wow! your quilt is gorgeous! love it.

MDMPanther 03-31-2011 06:42 PM

It's beautiful!!! I LOVE the batiky coloration of it all!!! :)

Kitsie 03-31-2011 07:58 PM

Yes, variegated. For me, I'd like the pattern (circles) to be the stand out part, especially with those wonderful Batiks. I see it just SID'd around the circles to make them really pop.

I tend to agree with Pat on gray thread or a silver. Think it would blend in nicely! It is a gorgeous quilt!!

Beautiful quilt. I'm always drawn to batiks.

deema 04-01-2011 03:46 AM

Very very pretty! I would do a variegated thread on top and whatever matches the back.

Vat 04-01-2011 04:25 AM

Love your color choices I'd use a varigated or try monofilment (Smoke) for the quilting.

SewCraftyGirl 04-01-2011 04:49 AM

That is a beautiful quilt! You did a great job. I particularly like the satin stitch around the applique.
