I don't know how the first wave of the SNW quilts passed me by, but after seeing everyone else's beautiful SNW quilts, I finally decided to make one too! I used a piece of stash fabric since I was experimenting, I also wanted to make a more soothing pastel quilt after working on several really bright ones.
I'm happy with the result. I had a bit of a problem with the binding edge being a little wavy, it wasn't the border, I had blocked it, but I think the cotton lame fabric I used for the binding was the culprit. I laid the finished and wavy bound quilt flat on a table and did a running hand stitch almost in the binding ditch and gave it a tug to tighten up the waves, it worked like a charm!

That is so delicate and calming. I seem to be doing mostly very vivid, so your quilt struck me as soothing. I really like it. You would never know you had a problem with the border, good save.

You're not the last one, still can't figure it out!! What is SNW?

kateyb 06-18-2011 04:52 AM

What a very pretty quilt. I've done several stack and whack quilts and they are just plain fun to do. Each block is always a surprise. Really like the idea of the strips separating the rows.

ontheriver 06-18-2011 05:19 AM

Your quilt is so pretty. I think it is my fav SNW so far.

mhansen6 06-18-2011 05:40 AM

That is beautiful. I am not a fan of OBW because you loose the blocks, they all run together, but this shows off the blocks beautifully. I am going to bookmark this one. Great job.

Candela59 06-18-2011 05:45 AM

Beautiful quilt! But, I'm ignorant...what does SNW stand for?? :?:

I finally got it, stack and whack.

Homespun 06-18-2011 07:35 AM

It's very pretty! I wouldn't have stressed out over the wavy binding--the rest is so pretty--no one would have noticed!
