I didn't get serious about it until I retired. My MIL started in her 60's--nice thing about quilting, it is never "too late" to start. Your quilt is neat and you've done a good job. Thanks for sharing.

I love your quilt and think that you have a great future in quilting ahead of you. I have sewed since I was 12 yrs old, but never started quilting until I was 68 yrs old. My mother also sewed all her life, but she never quilted. I guess that's why I did not get introduced to it until I saw an ad in the daily newspaper of a quild advertising for new members. I took my daughter who also sews and we went. So glad that we did. I can't believe I missed out on all of this fun all these years.

Well, you certainly found a wonderful board to hook up with. Your colors and exquisite, and your sewing seems really good. I'll bet you tend to perfectionism. ;)

Anyway, wonderful, wonderful job. It is difficult to fathom that this is your first sewing experience. I'm so glad it was positive!

And so the quilting addiction begins.....welcome aboard. :)

KyKaren1949 02-19-2012 05:00 AM

Really cute! Don't feel like you're getting a late start. I retired from teaching elementary school 3 years ago, began volunteering at my church's charity quilting and became hooked. I have an art minor, but never did much with it until now. I use those skills all the time when selecting fabrics, patterns and quilts. I am in heaven when working on a quilt. Aren't you glad you discovered this??? I sure am.

PurpleBecca 02-19-2012 05:03 AM
