I may be late on this, but don't use up your scraps! <g> Cut some two or 2 1/2" squares and use them first and last .... pretty soon, you will have a bunch of twosies that can be turned into foursies, and THEN! With HST ... you can do a jewel box! <g>
I am really impressed with your first quilt and your creativity! I mean, it is one thing to do HST .... but, it is quite another thing to be able to move the red, white, and blue around to create that secondary focus I found in your border and the center .... you are a clever person!
