I really didn't want to post this but I know you'd all be wondering.
I call it Blood, sweat and tears disaster. It's horrible but I learned a lot, especially........don't try to "fix" it!! But its just for me so guess I'll learn to like it. lol Back It's curved :( |
Sorry I see nothing wrong with this very beautiful!! I love it!! Great job!
Curved it is - but put a bowl of flowers or fruit in the middle of it and nobody will know - it is really pretty though!
So what is it I'm not seeing?
I think it's lovely.Send it to me and I'll gladly display it. |
I think it's just beautiful. I love your backing fabric. Looks just fine to me. Thanks for sharing.
Looking good--You did it!!! Nothing like starting right out with a challenging project and then actually getting it done; good for you!
It's not horrible. In fact I rather like it and think it's very neatly put together. Each quilting project is a learning process, so on with your next one!
No one will see the mistakes as much as you will. Put it on the table with pride and start your next project.
Your first try at quilting is wonderful! You have every reason to be proud of your runner. Thanks for sharing.
I think you did a fabulous job on your first quilting piece,
and I so love your colors . Pat yourself on the back for you did Great, can't wait to see your next work. :D  |
Didn't you post this earlier with a what do I do with this mistake type message? If it's the one I remember, I'm glad you took everyone's advice and just evened it out and finished it. Although you see the mistakes, no one else will, especially if you actually use it with something as a centerpiece on top. My first quilt project was quite a disaster, and I still have it. Trust me, compared to the one I did, yours is a masterpiece. Just keep on working and you'll look back on this and laugh. Don't forget to put a picture in your quilt diary on page 1.
You did it! Congrats on figuring out the binding ;-)
This will be one that you remember. You did a nice job. |
It is so nice. You should have seen the first project I did. That was awful. My son still has it. It was a quilt for his crib and he is now 34. You did great. Keep going.
I think you did a great job! I made one of those and they really can be challenging! The others are right...put a bowl of fruit on it and no one will notice a thing.
It will not be noticeable after it is used and loved. My wedding gown was cut and repaired by moving the line of beads over 1/16 of an inch... yeah... no one knew about it except me and my mother (she made my gown)... 30 years later, I cannot locate that "repair".
Hey...we are our own worst critics. once it's on the table no one will ever notice, and if they do who cares. You made it.
I think it is very nice. Sometimes when I have a quilted item that doesn't behave, I spray starch it lightly and pat it done in place...it might take a couple of sprays to get it flat. I've even pressed them with steam to get a little flatter.
One of my first projects was a table runner too and it to came out lopsided. But I have had so many compliments on it. I have it on my coffee table, and every time I get discouraged because a project isnt going right, or I feel like I cant possibly manage that pattern, I look at my table runner and think that is where I was and look at what I can do now!!... Enjoy it its beautiful!!
Focus on the positive. The colors are awesome and compliment each other beautifully.
Loving it! I dont see a thing wrong with it!
Stop beating yourself up! I think it looks great...and you will probably be the only one who will see anything wrong with it (aren't we all like that??). I think you've done great for your first one :)
Great Job!!!!!!
It looks fine. As someone else said put a pretty bowl in the middle and noone will ever notice anything. Your colors are great and you did a nice job. Keep on quilting...we all get better with practice!!!
Beautiful ! I see nothing other than something to be proud of !
Two things:
First: I think it looks GREAT! Even more impressive that it's your 1st one! Second: You need to pat yourself on the back for even doing the whole thing! I started learning in July and have some pretty tops but have yet to actually sandwich one and try to quilt and bind it....GREAT JOB!! :D |
we all have curves, thats what makes us unique and beautiful :)
I really like it. It would look beautiful on my kitchen table. (Hint, hint)
Mary |
aw, it's unique. and the points are great!
I think it is awesome.
I sent you a Private Message yesterday. I live in your area. :) Happy Quilting, Susie |
My goodness, if thats a 1st try, you're making my 1st quilt look even worse than it does!!
I'm impressed by the runner! Looks good...& remember, quilting, is all about learning. There's no end to what we learn on each & every project That's the wonder & fun of quilting.Love your quilt & as others said, display it for all to see. |
You did a great job!! Can't wait to see what you make next!
I think it is totally AWESOME!!! You know ... there are plenty of us who will take it if you really hate it that bad :D
Its a great job and no one is going to see your mistake if it is on the table at that angle.
Can you say "finished is better than perfect"
don't sweat the small stuff! It looks great! Stay at it you will get better. My first tablerunner also had a sway in the binding and a year later I looked at it again and it doesn't look that bad. :-) |
Very nice - Keep 'em coming:-P
I love this table runner! :-D You can use both sides of it! I love the backing and think it would look perfect on a Thanksgiving Day table. I think you did a great job! That pattern is not the easiest, to be sure. Look what you accomplished and be proud!! You go, girl!

I think you have done a great job working past the difficulties you encountered. You chose wonderful colors and it looks great. You should be proud of completing it. *looks at pile of quilt I started 4 years ago* |
you finished it-- how much you must have learned--try and enjoy the learning and remember quilt police are not allowed --even to police there own work--i think it looks great and would be happy to have on my table
I never finished my first one and won't either. Finally, threw it away. Now I wish I hadn't. Your quilt table runner looks great. Be proud you did finish it and did a good job too. Fortunately I have done other quilts since then and each one is a lesson learned and an improvement. You don't have nearly as far to go as I did!
What a nice job....you should be proud :!:
