Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
Is the flamingo and robin appliqued, or were they panels, or embroidery? I want the robin one!!!!!! My quilting looks totally primitive too, after seeing yours!!
You truly do such beautiful work!!!

Thank you!

The answer is no to all. They are not applique, panel or embroidery. I was reading about someone playing with paints, but making an abstract design to make a paint, and I used a similar technique. I painted the birds onto the glue side of Steam a Seam using watercolors and acrilic paint. This will never get washed, so I am not worried about that. When the paint was dried I ironed it onto Organza. Now I had the painted design on fabric and layered it on top of the regular 3 layers of your quilt with the paint facing towards the fabric and the organza protecting it. I used a pink fabric for the flamingo and blue for the bluebird, batting and backing. I then did some thread painting using embroidery floss to have enough colors available to do shadings. I am now working on a cardinal and a harvest scene. Will post when they are finished.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments,

Maria
