Sheree, I used the low immersion method (to get mottling), with Procion MX dyes.

Thanks again, everyone.

Amazing bright colours it looks really professional --well done.

I lve the idea of making my own fabrics but things in Spain are difficult to find and the dyes I have tried are not very exciting colours.

Will try the site you mentioned though Dharma, sounds good.

for a link to the website that I learned to do this from. Sorry it took so long, I haven't had time to do my own tutorial, and the site I learned from (above) was down way back when I started this thread.

I love this. You did a wonderful job. Thank you so much for sharing. Definitely got me excited about trying it for my self!

You did great! When I first saw the pics, I thought they were Batiks that you bought! Your project looks as good if not better than the real thing! I was interested in doing this a long time ago after finding a site online and reading about the process deciding it was just too much mess and waste but you make it look simple; now I'm rethinking it's not that messy. Organization is key. You have inspired all of us for sure!! Thanks for the link and your help!

They all look great. My mom used to hand dye wool.

I have a "recipe" for a 36 gradiation dye method, if you are interested.

I haven't tried it yet myself, but got the instructions from someone that actually had and the fabrics were gorgeous!!!
