Now that's an ironing board! So great!

Shelbie 11-27-2010 02:23 PM

This is a great looking table. Did you build everything or convert something? I'm not a cabinet maker so I'm not sure just looking at it. The ironing surface should be wonderful for larger quilt tops.

quiltlonger 11-27-2010 02:25 PM

Black Friday special?? Explain... Lets see it filled:)

champagnebubbles 11-27-2010 02:25 PM

I got the cabinet from a resale shop as well as the door which is the ironing table. The fabric for the table was all bought on sale at Joanns!

Not a black friday sale, I made it myself with the help of a friend and husband to do the hauling and carrying!

NICE!! I'm envious. I am looking at a table from IKEA that might work well for me. Right now I use those 6 ft folding tables, and they are great, but I want to reorganize my room, clean out excess and make it more 'user friendly'.

First of the year, thats my project!

Very nice idea. I actually got my cabinet at a resale shop for $15.00 and the top is an old door for $10.00! Try resale shops you may be suprised.

Looks great! Lots of storage great idea. Gotta love those Avon boxes are so useful :-)

SittingPretty 11-29-2010 06:09 PM

Just what I need! I made a separate board to go on a table I have, but I made it only 48" long. When I iron my fabric, I have no room on the board for my iron when I set it down to readjust the fabric. Good thing the table I'm using now is wide enough for an old bread board to set my iron on.

My husband helped me staple the fabric to the top. Otherwise, I did the work!

I have finished blocks inside those Avon boxes!

JEM65 12-01-2010 03:32 PM

This is fantastic! I love your design and the size of the pressing table! Thanks for sharing!

Mimmis57 12-08-2010 03:56 PM

How did you make the ironing surface? Is it a hollow core door? I have a BIG board that I pull out when I need it but the darn thing is so heavy! Your door idea sounds like just the thing I need. Thanks for sharing. Love your idea.

The door is a hollow door and we bolted it to the surface of the cabinet. I then did a layer of tin foil, felt, insul-bright and muslin. Stapled it all underneath!

Matilda 12-08-2010 06:39 PM

So cool!

quiltgrammyt2 12-08-2010 06:48 PM

Great idea, now I know what to do with the door stored in my back room. Thanks for sharing.
