Thank you to all who commented. Some answers to some questions:
The borders are 5 strips put together cut on the straight of grain with mitered corners (which I LOVE). The pattern is an original design. I've been obsessed with the whole chain effect lately and am working on a log cabin design with similar effect for my younger son. |
Beautiful quilt! I love your color combo!

I love the quilt. You did a great job. The colors look so calming, could be a good thing for a son I'm guessing.
I noticed you just joined the group.... welcome from Illinois. |
What a beauty! Lucky son who gets this quilt. It's "manly" and VERY attractive. Good job!!
I've made the star. Very clever how you mixed in the chain. Really like it alot and the colors are great! Lucky son #3!
Very pretty combo. Great job, post pics when you get the next one done, love your chain pattern
Welcome to this wonderful site. Your quilt is very pretty. I love greens.
I like it very nice.
That is really lovely! I have a pile of friendship blocks, but wanted to do something more with them because the corners are so plain... I guess it would take re-making the entire thing to add the nine-patch center and the corner blocks, oh never mind. I will just enjoy looking at yours. what size are your blocks? Is this a published pattern?
