I wanted to Show Off my 'Thread Stands' I've been making these for the 'Linus Project' we use them as Door prizes!
I get the old paper towel holders at a 'Goodie Store' and use the Wire from Fly swatters a little drilling, glue, paint, and Off to SEW!!! :) |
very clever idea. you can also use the big cones to. i have lots of big spools. thanks for sharing

Fantastic idea!
What a creative idea, I love those!! I want one!!
These are awesome! I haven't done any woodworking in a long time, but I really want to make a couple of these! They'd be much sturdier than the plastic ones the stores sell, much less likely to wobble, AND you can keep the colors you use most on a couple at the same time!
great idea!!!!
Ditto Very clever
I love your craftiness.
These look great. |
Sew cute! I love the apple one, being a teacher and all.
Very clever and oh so cute.
Really clever idea. I'm currently using a tall glass to hold my spool and it seems to do just fine. I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those holders. Thanks for sharing.

I feel left out because I never heard of a thread stand! How do you use it?!!
Wonderful idea! I have a friend that just started quilting and doesn't have a lot of money so this is a great idea I will pass along to her.
I need to get a paper towel holder!! I got a beautiful "hook" that I think is some kind of candle holder for $.50 but there's nothing to hold a cone! I have been using a jar, but I think the paper towel holder would be much nicer! Thanks for sharing!

Well, aren't you clever?!!! What a great idea. I'm getting a new machine this week and was wondering if I afford to pick up another (Have 3 already) thread stand! Now I know how to do it! Thanks!
