I love this idea. Both are beautiful! I did a landscape wallhanging quilt within the last year, cutting up pieces of fabric and arranging the pieces within a "window pane".

Your panel fabric is much easier.

Here is the website mentioned before where the panels were purchased and there are a couple of panels listed now that I don't remember seeing before.
