I made these Gaiters for my husband. The bottoms of jeans were always getting soaked from the snow and rain. I found the pattern online from a store in Corvalis, Oregon. They were easy to make, but it still took about two weeks....LOL But if I would have stayed on them it probably would have only taken a day or two to complete.
It is a waterproof shell with a canvas lining which I plan on spraying some waterproofing on them later today. front view side view side view |
Nice work! Gators are a MUST in wet weather, and these look great. What company did you get the pattern from?

oooh thanks for posting this. I've been using my xcountry skiing gaitors, but they are way too short. I have some Cordura left over from a table cover I made, now I know what I'm going to do with it!
Those are awesome!! Great idea! And I chuckled at your heading lol :D
Cool. Your husband's stance looks like he might be a natural model.
He's a sportin that model look...he must really love them (and you) if he's not taking them off...
Great job! Useful and a fashion statement as well!
You did a great job on these. Not only will it keep is pantleg dry, it will also add extra warmth. Works like knee socks, only on the outside. :-)
Cool
Very nice!

Great Idea! You did a great job too!
Nice job! I could use a pair, takes me about 8 mins to get from my car to my office building, and with all the rain we've been having the puddles are horrendous. My pants are always wet.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. |
great job! they fit like they were made for him! lucky hubby & he gets to see where your fabric goes too!
Cool idea! I wear knee high rubber boots...my problem is more mud than snow. I like the way your DH is "posing"...too funny!

Chasing Hawk, you are just flat out amazing! Does your DH know how lucky he is?
What a great idea and yours came out fabulous, very professional.
I need to make my son a pair of those. He works for the water company and comes home soaked at times. The water co. doesn't care if the men are covered or not.
That ought to help keep the britches dry! Good job!!
Very nice and so useful.
That was a great idea, nice job
Those are so cool! They would be great here in Michigan right now!
