Now this took some time to construct but I'm so happy with the results! I cannot believe that we're heading into April so quickly as it feels like we all just stopped stitching Christmas.

I created this calendar EARLY so I could have a design to give as gifts this Christmas for 2012. I love it's beauty. This subject is quilting and I want to make a few more in different themes. What do you suggest?

These are absolutely stunning. I love them.

NauDeeGal 03-20-2011 06:20 AM

Awestruck! That is really pretty! The kitty and quilt theme is purrfect!

What other themes are you doing? If you don't mind me asking?

Just to throw out a couple of theme ideas out there:

Wedding or baby themes would make a nice keepsake for a wedding/shower gift. Any kind of milestone for keepsakes.

I personally would like to see a fishing theme. We fish for walleye and perch from April thru October. Are you selling these?

From the designing up to the test completion, it took 30 days. It takes about a week to stitch the entire calendar from the ground up. (Day time working hours). Thank you much for your kind words! It truly is fun to stitch.

YAY!! Some ideas for a creative blocked artist. LOL!! I've been caring for my elderly parents one of which has cancer, and I've just got back to the designing I love. To make a wedding one for the first year of marriage would be a treat! Same for a baby...

On my profile is a link to my website. I want to create as many different calendars as I can. These take about one week to stitch but I'm so hooked! Ha!

What a fantastic idea!

It's amazing how many people love combining quilting and embroidery, and you've shown a wonderful way to think about both at the same time! Love it!

sewTinker 03-20-2011 06:45 AM

wow. double wow. that is magical. Cooking might be a good theme. and Gardening. Cats and/or dogs; also, classic movie themes (wizard of oz, gone with the wind, disney movies).

This is sooo and Sew creative. (I'm still wowing.)

Thank you! I've grown to believe, in my quilting, that ME (Machine Embroidery) is a must for a great embellished piece.

I Love the Calendar. Did you design and digitize it all yourself? You did a VERY creative/professional job. I love to quilt and embroider as well. Thanks for sharing.

quiltgran2 03-20-2011 07:21 AM

LOVE it. That would make a wonderful gift and you did such a beautiful job on it. How about any type of sports theme, or dog or cat... sorry meant dog or bird theme... sorry again see you've added a pic of birds

Hi Jill! Pleased to meet you. Yes. I am a 35 year graphic artist and illustrator. I take my designs and digitize them for machine embroidery. All the work you will see is original from my hand.

Thank you! I cannot stitch in my studio without my 3 kitties getting involved. It's been a HOOT through the years and that's why my firm is named "Kitty Kitty Designs".

Kitsie 03-20-2011 08:08 AM

Your work is truly wonderful! So precise yet very friendly looking! I'm bookmarking you to show my friends!

You know you make very sell-able items, don't you? Keep showing us more as you design them!

How Awesome! You are fantastic. I look forward to more of your creations. By the way, Welcom from Western Kansas.

greensleeves 03-20-2011 09:59 AM

For wedding or baby, you might do just the month of the occasion with the date "highlighted" instead of a full year calendar. Would be a great hanging for newlyweds or baby's room. Your work is beyond fantastic.

lallyann 03-20-2011 10:25 AM

Those are simply beautiful! my favorite quote of those posted is May your Sorrows be Patched and your joys quilted. That is really really nice. You did a fabulous job on the calendars. What great gifties for your friends (and I'll bet you could sell lots of those too!)

What kind of machine do you have. Your work is professional to say the least. I have never seen a calendar to embroider before. I am just marvelling at your workmanship. Great work.
