My latest quilt....
 

Hello all. I haven't been on QB in awhile. ... partly because I've been so busy working on this quilt for my local QS. The owner wanted me to make this up for a store sample but it was so busy. I really didn't like it much. But I tried to tone down the feeling of busy by using a limited number (25) of fabrics and repeating some in backgrounds, etc . So, I'm showing it to see if I'm being too fussy.... maybe it's not as busy as I think. The pattern is Green Tea and Sweet Beans by Jen Kingwell.

A very sweet sampler quilt. Samplers are often busy, yours is balanced and lovely. The appliqued border/frame is a great finish. Nicely done. :)

I think sampler quilts are meant to show off many blocks. Your colours are great for this quilt. Great job and this will look great in the shop.

Your fabrics selection is excellent. What a great quilt you made for your LQS. One of my friends is working on a DWR to hang in her LQS.

Your quilt is beautiful! I don't think its too busy, but then I make quilts like yours. There are plenty of places for the eye to rest.:thumbup:

I agree its a busy pattern however your limited color palate makes it pleasing to the eye, the balance of heavy patterned blocks/darker colors and the wide simplistic border make it all work so beautifully. Great job, if no one claims it you can send it my way. Again Great Job, the shop is very fortunate to have your work.Barbara
