Here is the quilt I am working on for my niece/godchild. I am so liking how it turned out. And to think I used to think I did not care much for the Warm Wishes pattern. Well 4 warm wishes quilts later I think I can safely say that is no longer the case. The picture for the borders shows the cream, black and then green but I am actually gonna do the cream, green, then black border.

Looks great, I have some fabric to make one, but didn't start yet.

jillaine 04-08-2011 03:11 AM

Wow, I really like the simplicity of this design. I love the "limited palette" of colors and how the pieced blocks pick up the colors in the print. Mmm.... gives me ideas. (Like I need ANOTHER project!!!!)

Myrna, do you have photos of the other three? I'd love to see them all together and compare.

Thanks for posting this; really nice work.

How will you quilt it?

very pretty...one of my favorite patterns... :D

kateyb 04-08-2011 03:22 AM

Love your print and color selection.
I've just recently done 2 of this design for toddler quilts. Really like the design. I can use just small amounts of a print and get a great looking quilt.

You picked a great setting for that larger print. Your colors are stunning

fidgety 04-08-2011 04:27 AM

I have never made a warm wishes but after seeing this and how it looks like a fairly easy pattern I going to give it a shot. I LOVE your colors!!! Very pretty.

Thanks for the compliment.....
I will probably quilt an X on the main square and then stitch in the ditch on the other blocks, but am not entirely sure just yet what I will do. If you go to search at the top and just type in warm wishes you will get all of the pictures posted on the board of the warm wishes, that will give you lots of different ones to check out. They are all pretty awesome.

It is a VERY easy pattern. The only thing you have to be careful of is to make sure the strip block is place correctly so you get the same outer strip color surrounding the main focus fabric. Hope that made sense.. :-)

lovingmama 04-08-2011 06:07 AM

Very nice quilt, love the color choices! Have to try one too!

jillaine 04-08-2011 07:21 AM

Searched for and reviewed other Warm Wishes quilts. WOW. Some really look great; others don't do a thing for me. Have to figure out what it is that appeals to me (and what doesn't) so I end up making one I like!

Here is the quilt with the borders on it. Now to decide what to use for backing and binding, sandwhich it and quilt it. :D

Warm Wishes is a very simple and quick pattern that really allows the fabric to speak for itself. I use this pattern very often for charity quilts with very impressive results. Your quilt looks great :)

playswithcolor 04-08-2011 10:12 AM

i'm making my this pattern for the first time. The focus fabric is bugs. it goes together very quickly. mine is ready for borders.

I love the fabrics in yours. Do you have pictures of the other ones you've made?
