I like your sewing room. It looks cozy and it's bigger than mine!

Esqmommy 03-28-2010 06:08 PM

Mary, your space looks terrific! Looks like lots of fun.

Toto's Mom 03-28-2010 06:15 PM

Love your "little sewing room".
My sewing cabinet sets behind the couch in the living room, and folds down to look like a regular piece of furniture, just in case there is ever a situation or holiday that might warrant putting my sewing machine up. I have fabric in tubs in the garage, and batting stuffed in the bottom of the coat closet. I just have to put my mat on the kitchen table to cut out, and set up my ironing borad in the kitchen.
It is a wonderful dream that I might some day have a roon of my own to quilt and sew in.
Whatever.......... I live here, and I am having FUN......house inspectors are not invited in.

Looks great to me! I really like the chest you have to the right of your sewing table - where your ironing board is set up. So pretty, what a nice storage space.

I don't have a room - my sewing things are in the family room (which, okay, with kids gone is really my room as DH takes over living room w/ bigger TV). I'll admit it: Too much stuff, not enough storage, lol! Most of my stash is in a closet at other end of the house. I'm with Toto's mom about the house inspectors. Not dirty, just cluttered :(

I love your sewing room. So organized and cozy. It's much nicer than my corner.

Boscobd 03-28-2010 08:28 PM

Your sewing room looks like a great space. My machine is set up on the diningroom table with my ironing board in the great room and my fabric storage in the closet of the spare bedroom! I call it my quilting exercise program! No matter how small you may think your space is, it is yours and you enjoy it!

virtualbernie 03-28-2010 08:31 PM

You have a wonderful "little sewing room". I share my sewing room with my bed... :(

CAROLJ 03-28-2010 08:32 PM

I like the quilt on the chair. I sew on a table in a corner of the family room.

wvdek 03-28-2010 08:33 PM

That chest is where I put my tops until they are quilted. A friend of mine gave it to me and it matches a bench that I have right out in the halway. I have three bedrooms so I have a extra one that i can use. I live be myself so can use it for sewing.

cgroark 03-29-2010 05:53 AM

Very nice. I love the organized fabrics in the plastic drawers. What do you use to do that? I need to get my stash more organized and your system looks wonderful.

paintedquilt 03-29-2010 05:54 AM

clem55 03-29-2010 07:07 AM

Your sewing room sounds like mine!LOL Had a den that I did use for a sewing room, and it was pretty nice, then hubby decided it should be made over into a guest bedroom . In the past three years, we have had two guest that actually used it. Most prefer the basement room with its own bath!

brushandthimble 03-29-2010 07:42 AM

Nice sewing room and so very organized. Which mine is not:)

I took my fabric and folded it salvage to salvage & then in half again & than take either a four inch ruler or a six inch one and start rolling it on the ruler & than slip the ruler out. I took construction paper and cut with 3.5 inch or 5.5 inch pieces and slip one end into the material and than slip the other end into the material and than you can write on the end how much material there is also when you use some you can rewrite how much you have left. fat quarters I use the four inch ruler and when I take the ruler out I just fold them in half.

CraftsByRobin 03-29-2010 11:15 AM

Your area is great! And much more organized and a larger setup of mine :)

hokieappmom 03-29-2010 11:32 AM

Nice sewing space, and one that you can call your own. Looks very organized!

summerstorm 03-29-2010 01:47 PM

Nice area, there was a time when I sewed in a closet. I have sewn on the kitchen table. I truly think the more room I have the more disorganized I tend to be.

It's not the size of the room, but the enjoyment you get sewing in there.

baubo1234 03-29-2010 02:49 PM

Love your little sewing room. I look at mine and I think of it as Creative Mess. I once in a while get into "I'm going to organize" and then I get sidetracked and nothing organized-wise gets done. Guess it's the thought that counts, leastways that is what I tell myself.

Melinda in Tulsa 03-30-2010 09:16 AM

Don't you just love your little table top ironing board! I have one next to my sewing machine and then have my regular ironing board set up on the other side of the room. Love your sewing space. Wish my was that neat.

gramquilter2 03-30-2010 09:18 AM

Wow,a very nice NEAT quilting area.

tinwoods 03-30-2010 03:52 PM

Your space is well organized and practical! How do you like sewing on your table? I am thinking about getting one and wondered about it bouncing when speed sewing.

Annz 03-30-2010 05:55 PM
