Do you remember the quilts made with solid fabrics I showed you a few days ago? I finished the quilting on one of them.

I made it for a young boy.
I quilted it with straight lines stitched with free motion. It was such a fun and relaxing project.

Thanks for looking and for your nice comments on my previous post.

I really like using solid or almost solid fabrics, & yours is
so nice.

everbtrue 08-02-2011 11:30 AM

WOW that is way cool! Doesn't look like solids at all. Love it.

mtspools 08-02-2011 11:30 AM

GORGEOUS, as usual!

What's going on on the back??? Your backs are usually as nice as your fronts.

I put a striped white+yellow fabric. I really hated that I was so lazy and I did not piece a solid fabric, this was my intention. I did not even bother to take pictures of the back. Lesson learned !

beautiful. i don't often use just "plain" fabric. always prints. you inspire me to go for it. your quilting is great, it gives such movement to your quilt. :-)

I don't normally like solid fabric, but I sure do like the way it looks in your quilt. Perfect quilting for your quilt design, as well. Great job.

grammiepamie 08-02-2011 12:04 PM

This is so cute. and the quilting is perfect for that kind of quilt. I just love. I have alot of solid colors in my stash. I think I would like to try this only use circles. What do you think.?

boohoofish 08-02-2011 12:04 PM

I really like this - so colorful and perfect for a child.

Your quilt is so bright and cheerful. I love it!

Annaquilts 08-02-2011 12:25 PM

Stunning! Do you make your own pattern? If so you might want to go in business.

Annaquilts 08-02-2011 12:27 PM

Do you use Kona solids or others?

wolfkitty 08-02-2011 12:28 PM

The solids are a nice change, and you did a really nice job on this quilt!

Nice! I'm going to invest in some solids now to add to my stash! Thanks for showing me how nice solids can be.

LeeAnn 08-02-2011 12:44 PM

Very pretty! I don't use a lot of solids but I may have to give them a second look. Great job!

I love the texture of your quilting. I wish I could rub my hands across it. I love to "feel the material". haha

np3 08-02-2011 12:49 PM

That is so colorful! I almost never use solids, now I need to rethink this!

I think it would look simple and gorgeous! And don't bother choosing the colors, just add some neutral fabric- I love most white - and the color palette will look great.

For the cube quilt I used Kona and for the other two I used solids from Connecting Threads.

Such a beautiful quilt, love the pattern and your use of 'plain' fabrics. Topped off with amazing quilting. What a lucky young boy to receive this gift.

I can't remember if I posted on your earlier posting....but I thought all of your quilts were sooooooo pretty! The quilting on this one is really nice. I have always wanted to make some quilts using solids, but haven't yet. Your postings really make me want to go on a solid shopping spree!

GagaSmith 08-02-2011 03:00 PM

Beautiful. You have a great color sense. I saw your other quilts too. You really give solids a whole new look.
