Haven't seen a quilt shop with so much 'floor' space, but the whole idea is to 'see the floor design'. Like it.

donna873 10-14-2011 03:25 AM

Oh wow..this is awesome.. makes me want to do my sewing/quilting room like this.

SherriB 10-14-2011 03:38 AM

Love the floor! I wish my mind was that creative to think of something like that.

J Carol 10-14-2011 03:51 AM

My quilt studo is one great big star blockl that my grandson designed and picked out the colors for ~ gave the flooring store permission to suggest the idea to others. Where is your LQS?

zennia 10-14-2011 03:52 AM

I like it.

Yooper32 10-14-2011 04:03 AM

Bet that floor guy has one heck of a rotary cutter, LOL.

Charleen DiSante 10-14-2011 04:06 AM

That was such a neat idea. I was thinking about when the quilt shop has to move (to a bigger space, of course) can't you just imagine the reaction when the auto parts guys move in? hehehe

Bren 10-14-2011 04:34 AM

Very cool!

Tweety2911 10-14-2011 04:50 AM

love those floors like that!

fireworkslover 10-14-2011 06:48 AM

If you don't do it with inlaid tile you could perhaps use paint. My son works in a bike shop with a wood floor. They have bicycle parts in the floor with epoxy around them to hold in place and have a smooth surface over the top = sections of chain, gears, brake parts, etc. It looks really cool!

I would love to see that, is there a pic floating around somewhere on this board?

Hey i think we could also create a throw rug made from those carpet squares if you didn't want to do something so permanent as tile or paint...now you have me thinking...oh that's scary..lol

lodad 10-14-2011 07:19 AM

That certainly original! I haven't seen anything like that in my neck of the woods, but it is pretty and will be a conversation piece, whether at the LQS or in your own home. Go for it.

This is Sew Studio in Naples, Florida. Sorry, I should have mentioned that up front!

Janice Thompson 10-14-2011 11:03 AM

Now that's what I call creative. Where is this store

Mandie 10-14-2011 11:05 AM

That's too cool. hmm..... I bet different shades of hard wood would look great. Now to convince my Hubby :)

desertrose 10-14-2011 11:29 AM

Wow, he sure did a nice job on the floor. Amazing what he did with a pattern, some painter's tape and paints. Why not try it yourself on some plywood and see how it comes out you maybe able to do it yourself and write us a tutorial....
