That is really neat, should not be to hard to do.

WOW! Love the quilted floor! What a great idea!

JenJen224 10-14-2011 12:46 PM

Nice idea

That's neat! I had a friend who painted throw rugs on her front porch! They had a wonderful wrap around porch with two or three sitting areas set up around her "throw rugs." I've also seen it done on wood floors inside. Quilts on the floor would be perfect for a sewing room!!

What a great idea. Kutnso

I want to do this to my patio. After all, I think it would not be too hard to "dye" cement. You dye as you mix it, pour and let it set. Nothing hard about that.

Cool!! Have to wonder if the tile man or his wife are quilters!!!

RuthEm 10-14-2011 04:13 PM

My dear friend here in Florida just created a new quilting studio and she has different quilt blocks on her floor like this as well! It is really cool!!!

I know of a quilt shop 60 miles from me, that did all the ceiling tiles in quilt squares. The building is old, and ceiling very high, so the blocks are not overwhelming. Guess what the name of the store is? The Quilted Ceiling. You can get dizzy just looking at all of them, but it is beautiful

wolph33 10-14-2011 04:50 PM

that is awesome-perfect for a quilt shop

What a fantastic idea and it definitely makes the shop unique - it should spark interest and if people come, they just might shop or sign up for a class. I think they had a great idea.

You are right, that was a great idea. My basement floor is due to be repainted, I guess I better get out my quilting block binder and design something. I love this board for the ideas it shares.

What a terrific idea,,,,,,,,,,,,,do I now rip up all my wall to wall carpeting ????

QM 10-14-2011 10:40 PM

cute idea. any reaonably competant tile flooring guy could do this. It could be done with carpet, but that would be harder.

Great idea!
I'm sure you can get your floor done that way also, just show the installer photos & specify color placement.
Those guys enjoy doing creative things too!
