My masterpiece
1 Attachment(s)
This is my once in a lifetime...maybe...we'll see. It is from the book "William Morris in Applique" pattern titled "Friends". It was a BOM I bought several years ago, it rested in the drawer for a while because I had never done applique. So I decided to do it by hand as I figured I would have more control. So 3 yrs of applique later.... It is big 72x72. I also had those pesky other quilts-grad, wedding, babies interrupt me! Our guild's quilt show was last month so I decided the beginning of the year it was going in the show OMG. I worked like a mad woman. I echo-quilted all but the inside border which I small stippled, hash lined the black border. I had never echo-quilted before, so I marked it all from an idea I got from you-tube. Yeesshhh....that is ALOT of quilting. I must say it turned out gorgeous if I do say so my self and by the compliments at the show. BTW, I was chairperson of the show...another experience-once in a lifetime! Enjoy the pics! apparently I can only upload 1 pic here so I will load more in replies.

Wow, definitely gorgeous in every way possible! And hand quilted too ... yikes! I too love William Morris patterns and have some of the fabric that was produced a number of years ago. Actually got to see an exhibition of his items at the V and A Museum in London back in the mid 70's. It was just dumb luck that it was going on at that time and we were staying in a room just across the street. I will never forget that. I'll bet your quilt is even more beautiful in person. What a great job you did on it.
