[quote=quiltinghere]I'm working on a TWO braid quilts right now. When finished the overall width will be a little larger than yours but the height will be about 6 feet. We can challenge each other to work on it DAILY for at least 1 hour. I can do it - can you? (wink wink)

GLAD to hear you finished up 2 more rows and cut more charms all in one day! WOOHOO!! You go girl!

I finished up another column (I can't call them rows because to ME rows go left and right and my construction will make them go up and down - hence columns).

3 more to go (or 6 if you look at it that I'm making 2 of each column) I look at it as 3...

That's exactly what I was thinking! The solid strips might highlight the braids even more!

When all the braids are done - PREVIEW the braids on a solid piece of fabric - just lay them out (fold back the corners that you're going to trim off later if necessary) - and then think about adding a strip in between the rows. It would make a resting place for the eye (if that's what you want). Mine has a red charm IN the colums so that's where the eye will rest.

I used the PREVIEW method when I made another top and was trying to decide if I wanted a lot of the 10" squares to be the same fabric with a few different ones thrown in. It was better than cutting up all that fabric only to discover I didn't like it. Maybe I can post a picture later,

Strip - no Strip - that'll come later - Keep Sewing! LOL

I love it! Keep going! :)

I've seen some books (I think) on braided quilts, but was wondering if someone would be willing to do a tutorial on here.

:)

I really like this but am confused how you sew the pieces together to get this effect.

Toucansam- I found a free pattern online- let me look at home for it. Something and Sultry it was called.

WOW! that is AWESOME!!! You must keep going so we can all see the finished result! One braid at a time... and the next thing you know, it's done!
