My new challenge quilt
1 Attachment(s)
I'm in a national quilt design contest, in the amateur division, and all the quilts for this phase of the contest have now been posted so I can finally share mine. We only had to make the quilt top, but of course I'll be quilting mine shortly. It had to include an Amish Star block and be larger than 24" x 24"; those were the only requirements.
Here it is: |
That is something really special! I hope you win!!!

Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much! We only had about four weeks to design and complete it; in that time my father passed away and my husband was in the hospital so it was quite a challenge. It was both therapy and what kept me sane! Thank G-d for quilting!
|
You did a beautiful job. Glad that it helped you through a rough patch in your life.

That quilt is spectacular! Sometimes great beauty can come from great pain. Try to take that thought as a small consolation for your loss.

Wow Linda, in a way it was good you had quilting to keep you sane! So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope your husband is doing better, what a stressful time to be having to do this!
Love your quilt! You did an amazing job, and I wish you well in the challenge! |
I love your quilt! It looks kinda southwest too. Maybe its the colors you used that makes it resemble one. Thanks for sharing.

Very beautiful. You did an amazing job and I wish you good luck.

Just beautiful...Good luck to you!
|
beautiful!!!!
|
Very good for you!!!
|
OH! that is sooo pretty!
|
Well done!! I'd buy that pattern. I too get a "south-west" feeling for the quilt. I think it's the combination of orange and turquoise.
|
Love your design!
|
Thank you so much, everyone! My DH is doing great, back home and feeling better.
The contest is sponsored by one of the big quilting magazines - Quilting Board rules on advertising don't allow me to say which one. I do hope to publish this as a pattern after the contest ends, which will be in late October. Since I'm in the Amateur division I have to maintain that status throughout the contest. There are two more challenges to get through and I won't know the next theme unless and until I get through this round. Thanks for all the good wishes! |
That is stunning, I vote for you.
|
Thanks, Malega!
|
Nice design and nice colors...I hope you win!
|
It's gorgeous! Best of luck!
|
Thanks so much!

That little beauty gets my vote! It's gorgeous! My condolences on losing your dad & here's hoping your DH is back up to speed. Quilting certainly can be sanity-saving, can't it?
