So my mom came out to visit for the week and as we start to unload her car, I open the trunk and see this! I go oh, you brought your machine. She goes, I brought it for you! I looked at her and then started jumping up and down! O H MY GOSH!!!! I couldn't believe it. She gave me her Babylock Esante! She got it a year and a half ago and a little too complicated for her. She likes her other machine better, so I got it. I used to tease her that if she didn't start using it, I would take it.
So now I have to learn how to use it. Anyone have this one? Any pointers, suggestions?? The Machine Carrying case |
She looks beautiful, sorry I'don't know anything about it, but she is lovely

Congratulations - perhaps you could make Mum a thank you quilt.

Wonderful gift. Mom deserves the first gift.

I do not have it and cannot be helpful, but had to say, congrats!!

WOW! Nice machine!
Congratulations! |
I love it, good for you, what a great mom....
lucky you
Congrats on your new toy! Have fun!
lucky you Barb

You are gonna love this! I have an Ellegante, so can understand your excitement! Try not to be intimidated if you can help it. (Not easy!) Read the manual. Then re-read it again and play around with your machine at the same time. Machine should have come with a Quick Reference Guide that is very useful.
I have the quick reference quide and plan on looking at that this weekend. I know it will be super easy once I start practicing! My mom is awesome! So surprised! :-)
Woohoo! How kind of your mom!
Lucky you. I am so   with envy. Enjoy & good luck with it.
debra |
wow that is great congrats.
Beautiful machine, sorry I don't know anything about it. You are so lucky to get it.
Good for you
I see quilts, table runners, placemats, wall hangings, table toppers - whatever your mom likes - in her future! What a great surprise!
Very nice, and even more so coming from mom.
YOu will like this machine. I have one of the first Babylock Esante's. I don't use it as much as I should. It has the embroidery attachment with it, too.
I have a Bernina 160 that I love for piecing quilts. But the Babylock is a great machine for other sewing projects. Especially if I want to do some fancier stitches!. How nice of your MOM...hope she got a big hug for that! |

How exciting! I have an Esante and I love mine. I've had it for almost 10 years now, I think. It doesn't look like that one but I bet they work the same. Play around with the stitches, read the manual, and just try lots of things. I find that making a sample of many of the stitches on a large scrap of fabric is helpful as a future reference. (Mine also has an embroidery feature, with attachments and hoops, but I confess I have never used them. One day I will explore them too.)

You will love it. I have a Ellegante 2 and I use mine ever day. I love to do embroidery. Have fun with it. If you need help just PM me.
Good for you. Don't know anything about. Some quilt shop owners will train you on how to get the most use out of your new machine. Now stop jumping.
I just got this machine. Bought it on Ebay in April. Love it. Am having all kinds of fun learning how to use it.
PS: its easy to learn too |
You'll love her! I started with an older one & bought a new one last year. She can almost sew herself!
I loved my Esante. I since traded her in for the Ellisimo. Babylock machines are very user friendly.
Great gift!  Sorry I don't know nothing about that one.
Oh how wonderful
My local quilt shop in Richland Center Wisconsin sells Baby Lock. She gives a class everything month with a project that teaches you something that the machine does. So I would find out where the machine was purchased and see if they have classes. Often classes come free with the machine. If the place she purchased it doesn't give classes, get on the internet and find other dealers near you. You will be shocked at all your machine and all those feet can do. I am so thrilled for you |
Congrats, and have fun!!

No pointers,no suggestions, but my mom was also a very giving mother.I miss her and you should be so proud of her generosity.

What a wonderful gift from your Mom. I have an Ellegante 2 and find the manuals very user friendly. You will learn by using. Have fun!
google sewing machine manuals and you can buy the manual for 8.00 or 10.00 and they have hundreds of them.
Go to babylock.com they have some Sew @ Home class you can buy. I get them and have learned more taking the class. they are on the phone with you and show you on the computer how to do it. And if you have a question you can ask. Really nice.
I have one and I love it.
