I love using non quilting items for the "just the right tool" in the quilt room.

I do, too Tiggersmom. I'll have to steal one of my Tupperware pot scrubber thingies and put it in my sewing kit. As a turning tool, I use a tool that I used in making sugar flowers. One end is round and is helpful in turning smaller tubes. The other end is a blunt point and is good for gently pushing out the corners.

When I bury a knot, I wiggle the needle in the fabric to enlarge the hole a little. Then pull thread/knot through the expanded hole, it closes with the brush of my finger.

How clever of you. I also have repurposed tools. My favorites are magnetic mechanics parts dishes. Perfect for pins.
