I have been working on this room for about a month now. I finally got it done. I am very happy with it. (Let's hope this works with the pics)

I am so jealous. what a great room. Is it in your basement or a spare bedroom?

It's in my basement. I have lived in this house for 3 years and finally got it the way I want it.

I am including a picture of my house. This was done as a slice quilt from members of our guild. We took a picture of what we wanted, sliced into however many pieces we wanted (6 in my case) and gave a piece to the participants. They did their slice, in turn I did a slice of what ever they chose and then returned. This is what my picture looks like, which is my house. It is not sewn together yet, was just playing to see what I have to do to get it done for our final June meeting.

It must be so peaceful. I live in South Florida, NO basements here. :(

Very peaceful, go to sleep to tree frogs croaking, wake up to birds singing. See an occasional deer, bear, hear wolves howling in background, porcupine and beavers. Surrounded by nature. Love it most times.

I agree with what kluedesigns said. I do love the fru-fru of some rooms I have seen, but it is better decorating for other parts of a house.
Now your room is spectacular. I love all the wood, the organization, the roominess, your projects...heck, i love each and every single thing about it. I would live down there!
Love your house too, that's beautiful, can't quite figure out, how other ppl did pieces and they go together, would love to know.

I am just counting down the days until I can have a full room for quilting ( there are 59 of them left).

Your room is so warm and inviting. It seems that it's organized to make movement and machine change easy. AND I was so impressed with how you organized your fabric ~ that really put me to shame.

The size is wonderful. Even room for a long arm setup. Fabulous.

Thank you everybody for your compliments, I am quite proud of it. I must now start working on some projects and make a little mess so that it looks like it is actually used.

quiltncrazy-Thank you for that wonderful compliment. That was very nice. The picture of my house was down loaded into a program called "the big picture". The program put the picture into 6 slices, like tiles. I handed out those slices to the other participants. They traced the pieces onto a plastic report cover, made templates out of the drawings and cut out pieces of fabric and placed on a muslin base to duplicate the picture. Then sewed them down, machine appliqued, hand appliqued, used whatever technique they wanted to to accomplish the look they were looking for. The piece was made 1/2" bigger than the actual picture on each side to account for differences and to help line up each piece. Does this help to better understand the process? If not, maybe I can better explain in a separate email.

Mountainquilter-Most of my fabric I buy is usually 2 yards and more at a time. But, at the same time I do have them wrapped around these fabric sheets from Polar Notions. These are the best fabric organizers I have ever seen. Can get a little expensive, depending on how much fabric you have, but as you can see, I like to be organized and it looks so much better than the plastic bin look. I used to have 31 bins in my room and I hated that look. This is so much more attractive.

sandiphi - no! I live in Blaine Washington but it's only a 6 hour plane ride... :lol: And I DO, in fact, love MASS, We used to spend summer vacations in Glouster..@ Cape Ann Camp Site.. yummmmm crab.....
