I made this tote from directions I downloaded from the internet and from scraps. I added the grommets and I really like how it turned out!

alikat110 10-12-2011 06:14 PM

great job

Thank you all so much!

The bag is called a "Diana Hobo" from elizbeth carroll designs. The site is thinkliz.com/2009/02/20/diana-hobo-free-pattern.

This is the first time I used the grommets. The weren't hard, but a one did "slide" and I had to pop it off and resposition a couple of times. I wonder, if one could glue the fabric to the grommet to hold it in place while placing the other one on and pressing down. I hope they will last.

I'm sure open to comments/suggestions from experienced grommet users.

Many Thanks!! I've enjoyed my summer purse which is very similar to this one. However, it's now starting to look a tad out of season!! This just may be my next one.

For those who'd like a hot link to this bag ... here you are

Wine Woman 10-12-2011 07:13 PM

Sooo very cute! I bet you get a lot of people asking about your tote when using it.

I use my bow tucks and everytime I'm in a store someone always asks where I purchased it. It makes you feel so good!

cherylynne 10-12-2011 07:26 PM

Nice bag. The grommets are very popular now.

QuiltE 10-12-2011 07:28 PM

Did you find it worked out OK, as per the pattern instructions?

Any words of advice to those of us who might make one too?

Please? and Many Thanks!!

blueangel 10-12-2011 07:53 PM

oooh it is so pretty i like it. very elegant looking.

ellenmg 10-13-2011 04:40 AM

Cute! Did you make the straps one long piece? I was thinking that would work, then when you put it over your arm the straps would close the bag....Hmmmm.

Sewfine 10-13-2011 04:44 AM

Beautiful. Where the gold things hard to put on?

Latrinka 10-13-2011 04:57 AM
