Oh! Your piecing looks superb!

LoriEl 02-11-2011 12:45 PM

But it will be worth it in the end!

I really want to see this one finished it is absolutely beautiful and what great colors - may be a bit of a pain to work on but it is on it's way to ribbon material.....

Thought y'all would like to see some progress. Just 10 more blocks to go and I can start putting them all together. I've decided to worry less about the result and enjoy the process. I'm hoping that my BIL and SIL will like it when it is done.

Looking good! Can't wait to see the whole thing!

jdavis 02-19-2011 05:00 PM

OMG! The least of your worries should be whether or not the recipients will like it!!!! They'd be crazy not to! Keep up the great work!

It's done, it's done!!!! :D :D Well, at least the piecing is. I really like how it has turned out. Now to decide on the quilting design and get started on the second one. (Did I tell you they wanted a matched pair?) BIL requested it as an anniversary surprise for his wife in April. What was I thinking.... LOL I think the second one will go much faster now that I've corrected all the pattern mistakes and know how it goes together. Thank you all sooooo much for your encouragement and support!!!!! I couldn't have done it without 'cha

couldn't get a full on shot in my little room.

That is such a dramatic quilt! I think the piecing would certainly hinder me from ever trying it, but you did an admirable job with it ---and you have agreed to make another one? WOW!!!!!

LoriJ 02-24-2011 01:27 PM

The piecing is slow.. I counted the pieces... OMG 2,215 in a twin size! Sewing the rows together I pinned at every intersection which is basically every 1.5 inches. That's the only way I could make sure that my seams and points matched. I have to say that this is, to date, the most challenging project I've ever done and I've learned alot in the process. But the result is more than worth it. I can't wait to see SIL's face :) That, for me is the best part.

Thanks! Pretty much everything is cut @ 2 inches so it finishes at 1.5 inches.
