The first says 'star' - the second says 'pansy' - and I think alternating them would look nice! But if MIL likes pansies, go with number one - if she likes stars, go with number 2. I myself like stars!

I agree that the second one says pansy. But then pansies come in all colors and combinations. Either one works.
