This is my first quilt that I designed in EQ for my Dad for his Birthday. It is paper pieced (boy, I will never paper piece so many identical pieces again) It seemed to take forever.
I quilted it on my little Brother sewing machine, also my first attempt at FMQ. I discovered that I really need a much bigger table for my sewing machine, and a sewing machine with a larger throat would be nice too LOL
I am really please with the final quilt, I hope he will like it. :D

Not sure what to call it maybe "Starry Night" any suggestions???

I really like it! It's vaguely reminiscent of Storm at Sea to me. Maybe call it sea Stars. Hmm, I may have to ask you to sell me a copy of the pattern!

I love your suggestion of "Sea Stars", gaigai, the block is called Jungle Star in EQ7 if I can work out how to save and email a pattern I would be happy to send it to you.

Beautiful! Sea Stars is a great name too.

debcavan 04-24-2011 04:04 AM

Oh my heavens, is that gorgeous. What a wonderful thing that you designed it yourself. The block pattern is wonderful, the colors are wonderful and so is your freemotion. A table on your machine is necessary for freemotion. The more you do the easier it will get. It is my favorite part of making a quilt.

Narda H. 04-24-2011 04:05 AM

WOW!!!! Your quilt is a work of art. worth every second you put into it. Thanks for sharing. How can I get the pattern? OOPs I see you did it on EQ7. I may have it invest in that.

Rainy Day 04-24-2011 04:14 AM

As others have said, that is a work of art. Why not call it Vincent, after Van Gogh, the man that Starry Starry Night is written for:

BEAUTIFUL work. It is simply stunning, hope you find a quilt show to enter it in, it deserves to be seen. Thanks for sharing. Put me down for the pattern if you ever decide to market it.

karenm36 04-24-2011 05:19 AM

Stunning!!!! You did an awesome job on every aspect of this! What's there not to love?! He'll be moved beyond measure I'm sure that you did this. You can tell that you put an incredible amount of time and effort into this. Well done! So tell me, I don't know anything about EQ but I see a lot of wonderful quilts being made that were designed using it. Is it expensive and would you say it's worth getting?

littlehud 04-24-2011 05:23 AM
