Mmmmmm ice cream!! Sounds good!

And thank you Amma for your compliments!!! I am slowly working on a blue block right now. :) Much slower when I have to work all day!

Janis 10-05-2009 08:18 PM

I NEVER liked polka dots. Your stars have really enlightened me to polka dots!!! :D :D NOW I WANT TO MAKE A POLKA DOT QUILT TOO!! :D :D :D You have changed my mind about polka dots. Now I'm going to look for them in fabrics.

sewhappy57 10-06-2009 12:17 AM

Your Dotty Stars are adorable!

Harmony 10-06-2009 07:13 AM

That's going to be a darling quilt! I can't wait to see it when you get it all together!

Brazen 10-06-2009 01:23 PM

Finally, here's the blue star!!!

Kyiav10 10-06-2009 02:27 PM

Ok, I am loving this quilt already!!!! What a great imagination to use all polka dots! I cant wait to see them all together! Are you going to use any type of sashing?

Kyia

Brazen 10-08-2009 04:11 AM

Hi Kyia!! No... I don't plan on using sashing in there.... the original picture that I'm working from doesn't have it, so I never even considered it! Before I'm done, I'll now add in a strip between two rows to see what it would look like! :D

I finished a Brown this morning! Not going to do too many of those, but hopefully it'll be nice in the mix.

And here are the finished 5 together:

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 10-08-2009 04:16 AM

All of your blocks are looking great. Every time I pick a favorite, you post new pics and I change my mind!

Brazen 10-08-2009 04:19 AM

Thanks Lisa! I am worrying, prematurely I know, about placing these blocks when it comes time to attach them all! I have a vague desire for a pretty "color-wash"... but when I really think about what that means and where I put each colored star... I worry! LOL :D

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 10-08-2009 04:28 AM

I say just throw them out there and shuffle until you are happy. Maybe if you go into it without a preconcieved idea, you'll hit on a pattern that makes you happy without giving you grey hair.

DA Mayer 10-08-2009 04:29 AM

I like watching an artist at work, sometimes you give me courage to think out of the box. Can hardly wait to see what you are sewing up next.

mumtoliam 10-08-2009 04:38 AM

Can't wait to see this one finished!

sandpat 10-08-2009 05:45 AM

Wow Brazen! I always love what you come up with. When I started looking I thought...whoa...what on earth is she gonna do with ALL those triangles and why in the world would she want to work with that may bias edges???? Well...you showed me! I love how all that turns into that fabulous star!

Keep going and I'll keep coming back to look...I love all your dots!

Brazen 10-09-2009 01:23 PM

Thank you DA Mayer and Sandpat and everyone!!! I really appreciate your encouragement and comments!! It helps keep me going.

Here's a pink! I really like this one.

And all 6 blocks. So it's crib sized now. 36" x 54"

Brazen 10-09-2009 01:24 PM

I wonder if I should do an all yellow block?? Or just keep sprinkling the yellows thruout the blocks like I am?

What say you all?

It's looking great. Why not throw in a yellow one. It will brighten it up even more. I love it.

Kyiav10 10-09-2009 02:24 PM

I'd throw in a yellow one.

Kyia

sandpat 10-09-2009 04:31 PM

Yup...go for it with the yellow too!

Barb M 10-09-2009 08:37 PM

Oh wow, this looks incredible!!! I could never put that many colours together! I'm colour challenged lol Can we pick a favourite block? lol I Love the green one! :)

Endie 10-09-2009 08:57 PM

Love it, just love it. Never would have thought to use all dots. The contrast with the green is perfect.

kd124 10-09-2009 10:07 PM

They age coming along great. I vote for a yellow. Keep 'em coming--this is fun.

mgrhs 10-10-2009 05:53 AM

I usually don't like this many dots together but the finioshed blocks are adorable, can't wait to see more

RedGarnet222 10-10-2009 06:31 AM

LOL! This is very fun watching it all come together. I vote yes on a yellow too. :D

wvdek 10-10-2009 06:35 AM

I vote yellow. I just love catching up on your blocks and they are so exact! Great job.

Debbie1 10-10-2009 09:03 AM

Go with the yellow. I love it and all the different dots!

Brazen 10-10-2009 09:32 AM

Yay! Thanks for all of your "yes to yellow" votes! One yellow star is alllllmost done! But I have to go to work now, so it won't get finished until late tonight. :D

quiltluvr 10-16-2009 09:15 AM

No pressure, but have you been able to work on this a little more? I'd love to see your pictures if you can share them here. :D

ranger 10-16-2009 09:28 AM

I didn't read all the posts but I did look at all your dotty stars. They are amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

jamh 10-16-2009 09:47 AM

Too neat! They blend so well! ima have to try this!!

sawsan 10-16-2009 10:06 AM

Star looks great . If u can keep the middle dark as this black or dark blue maby will atract more otherwise i found it wow
how big fabric of one color u will buy?

Brazen 10-16-2009 11:06 AM

Hey all! I did finish the Yellow star, and then set aside the dots to make myself a large harvest/autumn/thanksgiving tablerunner. LOL

Sawsan, I started out buying 1/4 yard pieces of all the dot fabrics I could find, but generally that's way too much I think, so I started just buying 1/8 yard strips. The cutting ladies HATE me. And any fat quarters that I find in dots I get, too!

I have over 75 fabrics now!

bearpaw 10-16-2009 12:06 PM

Coming along GREAT!!!

grammatjr 07-12-2010 10:52 AM

Brazen,

I have been watching, and waiting to see your finished quilt. How is it going? I love it.
