Just fabric I found at my LQS. I normally don't like to mix Batiks with regular fabric but I loved the off white background with wire. I've seen batik chicken wire fabric but only in blue and maroon. I'm planning on putting the blocks in shadow boxes.

I like it even more !
those are so cute!
Great chickens!
what fun chickens! you said you use heat and bond...then do you turn under the edges or finish them with satin stiching to keep from unraveling when washed? I am new to applique so bear with me!
Love your roosters. You did a great job selecting your fabrics. Very well done. Thanks for sharing.
They are beautiful. I would also like to know how you did them.
I love chickens, roosters too. |
I love chickens, good job...

I love it. When your quilt is completed, how do you quilt it? Please post a picture when you are finished.

raw edge applique is my favorite :)

One is for beginners(less pieces) and one with more pieces.

Oh I love Roosters. Yours is handsome. Great work.
I have one of those patterns by Florine. I must find it and make it up. |
that is fantastic! Wonderful work!
So very interesting!
They came out beautiful. Love all the bright colors. Where did you find the background fabric? I have been looking for some for awhile? I copied the patterns for those great chickens/roosters for a future project. You did a great job on them.
Those are fabulous!!!
Those chickens have great personalities.
I love the chicken wire background fabric!! That is perfect for these beautiful chickens! Great work!
Really like your cchickens.
I haven't made up my mind on how to treat the raw edges. Maybe a blanket stitch or a free motion thread painting. When I thread paint I use rayon thread so I'm not sure if it will hold up well for a bed quilt?
Ok where these hard to do? I love these but not to up on applique yet.
Beautfiul and fun!
Those are great!
Love your chickens...how did you do them? Hand or machine applique? Did you have any pattern, or are you able to visualize them and cut the fabric on the run?
Such saucy chickens! Wonderful.
great job
Oh my I just love those chickens! Gorgeous.
