My quilt
 

I was asked to post a picture of my quilt in the pictures section of the board...so here it is.

This is the first quilt I ever entered in a quilt show...I entered it into the Davey Crockett Quilt Show in Crockett, Tx. in November and won the blue ribbon. I entered it into the Quilts on the Bayou show in Jefferson , Tx. in January and won Best use of color ribbon and the 2nd place ribbon in Viewers Choice. I have sent in my paperwork to enter it into the Azalea Quilt Show in Tyler ,Tx. in March and am hoping for another ribbon.

The pattern is "woodland Creatures" by Rosemary. It was a lot of fun to make and I loved picking out all the fabrics. It is all done by machine...piecing, applique' and quilting.

This is an awesome quilt. It is small wonder that you are winning ribbons with it, and will probably win many more!

I see many more ribbons in that quilt's future! It is really something...I would love to see it in "real". How long did it take to make that?

The first time I ever saw the quilt, was on the wall in QUILTS BY THE BAY, in Galveston,TX...It had been a block of the month there a couple of years before then. The back ground on the quilt there was in navy blue, but I decided to do it in black. I bought the patterns then and there and as soon as we got off vacation, I started working on itafter a few months... that was 2005 and DH was working out of the country and I was travelling back and forth. It's was slow going with work and everything else going on in our lives, but I got most of the blocks done in about 6 months time...In late 06 I got the inner borders done and then we decided to downsize, I was still working some, DH was now overseas.... I finally put it away for a while... DH retired. We moved in mid 07 and bought a 1902 house that needed lots of work, so that's what we did until April of 11 and I unpacked the quilt and finished the 4 outer borders, sent it to the quilter and finished it by September of 11.
Hopefully it won't take you near as long to finish yours...please keep me posted on your progress!

Unfortunately, Katrina took out QUILTS BY THE BAY, along with a lot more in it's path and aftermath.

The quilt is all cotton and a lot of batiks... Someone asked if this was my own idea/pattern....no. The pattern is "WOODLAND CREATURES" BY Rosemary...she has a website that is : www.quiltsbyrosemary.com
