My two sons made this frame for me when I retired. It is made out of wood that was from the farm where I grew up. My Dad had cut it, sawed it and dried it. Then my sons made the frame.

that is a wonderful frame. alot of memories in all that wood

moonangel12 12-01-2010 05:10 PM

Love it! Beautiful work to combined with the sentimental aspect - I'm sure it will become and heirloom!

My dad made me a bed when I was in 8th grade and he used a combination of wood from our old house in AZ and some from the Victorian that we moved into in VA (over 100 years old!). He hand-carved some medallions for the ends. It is beautiful and a great memory for me!

That's a real pretty frame, and I love that it came from home, Dad and sons! An heirloom if there ever was one!

Oh, wow!! How very special.

anicra 12-02-2010 04:54 AM

What a wonderful keepsake for you. A lot of thought went it to your frame. Just wonderful.

BizzieLizzie 12-02-2010 06:01 AM

Your frame looks beautiful apart from the fact that it was made with loving hands and hearts. Beautiful quilt on it and once again loving hands and heart using it.

grammydar 12-02-2010 06:06 AM

Hey! I have the same frame, still in the box. I made sure before I bought it that he would make it for me. "Yes I will make it." 10 years later still in the box. I may just get it out sometime and have my dad help ME make it. LOL.

You are one fortunate quilter!

What a lovely frame and a very thoughtful thing for your sons to do.

mshawii 12-02-2010 09:06 AM

What nice son's! And talented and memorable to use wood from your home. Very thoughtful. It will become an heirloom that should be passed on down in the family to the next quilter! Lucky you!
