Try ordinary rubbing alcohol on a clean washcloth! Works like magic!

My pfaff dealer recommends Goo be gone. Just a tiny bit on a rag cleans my baby and hoops.

Oh and very pretty results!

I have used grided pellon several times when doing watercolors and have never experienced any residue left behind. I get mine at Wal Mart.

I've used the iron quilter's grid several times, too, and have never experienced anything like this. Can't imagine what the black would be from??? The grid is marked with "gold" lines...

I had some with the gold grid, and some of the older stuff with black dotted lines. The black is what left the smut, but the gold lined stuff did not hold the fabric very well. I fought it the whole way. Eh, live and learn.
