I found this ....they might work! And DH suggests using the 12" one...so the board doesn't tip over -- that's the size of the one I have.

Not sure it would be strong enough if it's plastic....but it's cheap! Worth a try!

Just made one myself the same way...........and I love it. Used the piece from an "old sit & spin game" made a top and then put on the cutting board matt. Yes, DH made it and his intent was to use as a scrabble board...As of yet he has not discovered that it is gone & of course probably never to be found in my "dungeon" mess LOL

I was thinking add a piece of ply, similar to what DH did, getting ideas for my smaller cutting mat, as it would be great when Paper piecing where I do a lot of triming at every seam...can you hear the cogs clunking??????

What a great save on the rotary part of it. I have a rotating mat and I just love it. I'm not sure how big mine is , but it is great for those times when you done want to move you fabric to cut some thng, you just turn the mat and it is sooo nice. Your DH is a keeper. Huggies, Fay

Mine is 17" and IS a little large for what you're doing. DH cut the bottom left corner of my cutting mat. That way it starts at 1" either way.

I Have a small cutting mat that is about 12" x 16" or there abouts, I place a small table to the right hand side of my machine, with a little iron on, a rotating board, along with my small cutter and 1" x 12" ruler, would make the whole process that much quicker...which has got to be good hasn't it!!
