my scrap busting project

I save a lot of smaller cut of pieces, and finally decided on something do to with them. After ironing and sorting, I had over 50 color groups to work with. Ended up with 99 blocks, so I made a black one. It looks fine next to the dark browns.

Was thinking of doing something more random, but I think I like this better.

The best part, I've really knocked down my scrap collection!

Great idea to shade the blocks in groups throughout the quilt. It's different, which is nice. Well done for reducing those growing scraps. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful use of all those unused scraps that some of us tend to throw away!

Great Idea and a beautiful quilt!

EmiliasNana 03-18-2017 06:03 AM

Being a bit OCD, LOL, I think this is a great scrap reducer in a more organized way. Love it. I am doing a similar type block with my selvages, as I collect not only the writing but the printed side too, and sort them by color.

Daylesewblessed 03-18-2017 06:35 AM

I like the rainbow effect!

Love this scrap buster!!! Did you sew your scraps on a base or just sew pieces together???

retiredteacher09 03-18-2017 03:15 PM

Nice! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks every one for the nice comments. Now I"m trying to think of ideas for a border.

Maggie Sue - I just sewed them together. I put together smaller pieces, and then fit the larger pieces together. I experimented with some curves to see if I could do them.

I took this picture while I was putting them together.
