I'm signing on to this post so I can watch the progress too! I'm living vicariously through you. Get those pictures to us asap.

Good luck with your split rail. It is a good one to make to use up a lot of scraps.
One of my earliest quilts was a king size split rail for my SIL who wanted every color. I did rainbow colors in the main part of the quilt and then did a piano key type border of blacks and browns and bieges. It turned out pretty good.

here are some more quilt pictures as well as a couple other pics.

block 2

blocks pairs and 4 strips waiting to be cut apart

pairs in the storage container to keep them away from the cats

here is why I keep them in the storage container. Kippy nabbed this from under the table when I was trying to take pics of the blocks. dragged it out to the living room. then when I got it back he took it again, and this is the picture of the second time he took it

this was the bag I was keeping the pieces in... not anymore ;)

here is my little sewing space in all it's glory. When the boys are gone during the week, I keep most of the fabric spread out on the bed, and the sheets and such in the big white tub. during the weekend, it gets packed away. Shelf is a new addition, probably won't keep it though.. it is meant for CDs so kind of narrow

Looking good.
I think you will make good progress on this having with all cut out before you started. I did a large single bed one for a charity and cut as I went and that seemed a slow way to do it.

thank you

I wanted it to be more random which is why I cut it all before stitching (was a lot of cutting)
knowing the cutting is done though does help

nearly done... all I have left to do to finish the top (well as far as I know, all I have left to do to finish the top hehe) is to sew the rows together.

here is a couple rows laid out. (this is actually the width of the top... queen sized approx. laid out on the twin bed... hard to see it properly if laid width wise)

I like it... I am seeing it from a different perspective when I take pictures. I like how randomly some of the pieces matched up.
I am going to name it Fate... I left it up to fate as to how the pieces came together, there was no planning other than the size)

As you all know... when you are sewing it you don't really see the big picture.
(a design wall would be nice, but I am thankful for what I have, and the extras will come over time)

nearly done
