I started to put small sandwich bags on my thread on the rack that my Dad made for me. It keeps it clean and I can see what I have with out digging in drawers.

Exposed cotton thread gets not only dusty but risks heat/humidity deterioration and 'dry rot' as well. I have kept mine in thread drawers for years with very little loss.

But your rack is so attractive!!

Yeah that happens - but my DH made it for me so I use it and it does look pretty.

That is very old and worn linoleum. I do things as cheaply as possible. The Shelving units were given to me, my DH found the drafting table (cutting table) out for large item garbage pickup and the counter top was given to me by a neighbour who thought he had a use for it but one corner is slightly damaged so he doesn't want it. Other items were repurposed. Under the pile of stuff is my grandmonthers sewing machine (Singer 201) that I learned to sew on - it still has the best straight stitch I've ever seen.

I have the same problem. My embroidery thread is already in drawers, but I don't have enough drawers to put the sewing thread in.
