When we began our search for our "growing older" house, one of my main wishes was for a studio. This was one of our deciding features in this house. Former owner was a watercolor artist, and he built this space on the back of the garage. It's about 20'x30', with french doors to the yard, skylights, and even my own bath. After years of sewing in the basement (unfinished), I feel like I have died and gone to heaven.
I am finally sharing pics. This is about typical for neatness, always several projects going on at once. The cupboard next to the rocker holds my collection of antique quilts, some made by my g'grandmother. Stop in and sit a spell!

Main machine area-reflection on window is a birdfeeder. DH put up the pegboard for me.

The stacks! Bins up top are polar fleece. I make and donate hats for homeless and school kids

Antique quilts collection and hand work area. Colorful fabrics on L are vintage aprons. Need to organize them

TV and reference books. Rocker is right in front for watchin' movies while doing handwork.

Hi Elizajane: You are smokin' fast this morning! Already saw my post, and I was barely done! I have been sewing for over 50 yrs, and beside buying, friends give me lots of stuff. I also teach classes, and give my young friends fabric for projects. Trying to assure that sewing doesn't die out.

your room is wonderful  Wow you have quite the thread selection too. White bright walls are so great and it lets in all kinds of light to work by. I am glad this studio was on your "have to have list"!

I love your bird feeder. Where did you find a suction one? My sweetie and I would love one of those to watch birdies outside our livingroom. :-D

Bought the birdfeeder years ago at a garden shop. Sorry, no brand name on it and packaging is long gone. You could try an internet search. Hangs on two bars with suction cups. Backing is one way mirror, so the birds can't see you when they are eating. I miss a lot of the action, as they come early and I am a night owl! Can tell by the seed going down that they are enjoying it.

Marlys: Love Montana! Big sky country where the sky goes on forever. Will have to plan a trip back out your way, haven't been there for many years. Thanks for your kind comments.

No one would ever see me if I had a TV, bathroom, and microwave and coffee pot in a separate building to quilt in! You are so blessed!
