I started this quilt in a class at Daisy Barrell in Fairborn, Ohio around 2000 (estimate), I would work on it then put it away. I finally finished it this winter. It is hand appliqued onto cotton with cotton sashing and boarders. I made a scrapy pieced backing out of lots of leftover flannels. I even added a few "Let It Snow" embroidery from my craft show days. I then used pearl cotton to big stitch quilt it, in not particular pattern. Hope you all enjoy looking at my pics. It has been a labor of love and very, very cozy and warm on the cold Ohio nights. Celia

Good things are worth waiting for and spending quality time with. This is beautiful. Different parts will bring back a decade of memories. Can't think of anything better than that. I just love it!

WOW - I was floored when I saw this. A few years ago I finished a quilt for a friend at work. His mother had started a few quilts and she passed away. He found in the attic a bunch of her sewing things that he believed to have been from the 70's. So I put all the blocks together and tied it. One block with the house was missing a tree, one was missing a stepping stone and they all needed to be appliqued. So I went to work and finished it for him. Obviously by looking at yours, there was more to this quilt that she never got to. Take a look.....

I know it was a very popular class at the quilt shop I took the class. I think they had offered the class for several years when I took it. I remember the instructor said people always signed up no matter how many times it was offered. It is a fun quilt and you can add personalization. I put my dogs and cat, husband and me, and my girls. Thanks for sharing your pictures. It is great that he wanted to have his mother's quilt finished.

Love that quilt. It just looks so warm and cozy to snuggle in. Is that a caroler I see on the back top left corner? How cute! The Amish couple and the kids and dogs on the front are so precious. TFS
