My son has been itching to sew on my new machine so today we made the tote he has been wanting to make. Be easy on him, he is a newbie and worked really hard on this. He is my forever child.....mentally handicapped, but tries really hard to do what everyone else does. He wants to start quilting just like me. He already wants to go to the fabric store and get more fabric. I guess he's hooked too.

No need to "be easy on him" the work is beautiful. I love the fabric combination.
Wonderful job!

MaryStoaks 03-15-2010 06:06 PM

That is AWESOME!!! He did better on that than the bow tucks purse I made today!!! Maybe I should have sent him my fabric ;)

Loriann 03-15-2010 06:40 PM

"Go easy on him"?, absolutely no need ~ that came out great! He should be very proud of his work.

JLD 03-15-2010 07:23 PM

Wow. He did a wonderful job! It looks great! It is easy to get sucked into the hobby isn't it.

Dingle 03-15-2010 07:47 PM

That tote looks better then the one I made. I'm a newbie too. Took me 2 weeks to make mine! I have a hard time following directions. Being handicapped or not, I think everyone has something they do well. You may have just found the one thing your son could be great at. Look at all the other guys on this board. (yes I'm jealous)

bailey 03-15-2010 08:25 PM

Please tell your son that I adore his tote bag. For those of us who like chicken & the farms, that fabric is great. Hope you'll take him soon & let us see what he picks out for his next project. Way to go!

wvdek 03-15-2010 10:59 PM

How proud you must be of your 'forever child'. He did great and we look forward to more projects.

k3n 03-15-2010 11:54 PM

What a great job he did! I'm envious of anyone who can make bags, only one I ever made has no bottom - ie it's just flat, can just about get a sheet of paper in there! LOL And I love the chicken and ducks fabric he chose! Great job, LH's son! Hugs to you both x
