my son's quilt is quilted

He is getting this for part of his Christmas. He has helped at every step of the way. He picked all the fabrics out, he picked what kind of batting he wanted, and the backing fabric. He is very excited to have a new quilt and he says he is going to take it everywhere he goes(hopefully he doesn't...lol).
The batting is high loft poly batting. It was freehand quilted on a longarm. The quilt top is very different than what I had originally planned it to be, but he likes it and that's what matters.
Thanks for looking :)

Very cute. I hope he has many, many years to enjoy it. Just think of the memories you have created for him... something to tell his kids and grandkids.

I think it's fun that he helped pick fabric and all.

He is adorable and I am so glad you let him help!!!

quiltingcurious 12-20-2012 05:40 PM

What a sweetie! You can see the joy and pride all over his face, what a wonderful age to be and be thankful for the simple pleasures in life and so appreciative of being part of the process. He will remember always the time and love you poured into his quilt and how he got to be so much a part of it! Kitty seems to think there is something there for him/her too!

lfstamper 12-20-2012 05:46 PM

Very cool - love the fabrics and he looks pretty happy too!

hperttula123 12-21-2012 05:33 AM

oh yes...he loves being able to help me with my projects. He even wants to learn how to crochet, so I'm teaching him how to do chains. The cats think everything is for them. If it makes it in the house...they are on it!!!! Lol, gotta keep it in the sewingroom to hide it from the cats. :)

What a great quilt for a little boy - lots of interesting fabrics, new color combinations and a perfect central block. Love it!

joyce888 12-21-2012 06:35 AM

Don't know what you planned but it sure came out fantastic! Your son did a great job on choosing the fabrics.

Great quilt and it is so nice when the recipient helps with the fabric and backing choices, it makes it so much easier for the quilter

quiltsRfun 12-21-2012 09:56 AM

That's a great quilt for a little boy. Love the fabric and backing. I can see this one will get lots of use.

misscarol 12-21-2012 08:24 PM

Great job! Please tell your son he did a wonderful job picking out fabrics. I LOVE the backing fabric!

jackied 12-21-2012 09:06 PM

He's a cutie and proud of his 'work' on the quilt.

MargeD 12-22-2012 08:16 AM

He certainly appears very happy with the quilt, and the kitty loves it too. He just might take it every where he goes, my son did after he left home, came back, left again, came back, etc. It survived.

Monika 12-22-2012 09:59 AM

Very cute!

Quilter 65 12-22-2012 12:01 PM

This makes my heart glad! It's an adorable quilt and he is, too. So wonderful to have him involved from start to finish. Believe me, before you know it, he will be grown and you'll be so grateful for this memory!

hperttula123 12-22-2012 08:29 PM

Thanks everyone. I have his quilt wrapped up now and ever since it was done, he's been telling me how he can't wait for Christmas so he can have his quilt.

JBeamer 12-23-2012 06:30 AM

I see the quilt police or is that the quilt kitty is inspecting your son's choices. Looks like it's a winner. LOL
