I'm ashamed to say that I have been tossing out my "strings" but you've inspired me to keep them and make a beautiful quilt...Thanks!

I made a string quilt with colors of all one group. I started with a 19 or 20 inch foundation piece, puting the darkest color in the middle going to the lightest to the right side. Then I turned the block around and went the other way. After I had 2 of the block finished, I cut them into 4 pieces. I put the dark colors together into a diamond and the light ones together into a diamond. I alternated the diamonds between light and dark to make the couch sized throw. I then sandwiched it with polyester and a sheet to back. I stitched in the ditch for the quilting. I put the light binding around it with a decorative stitch. I made this green one for my DIL. She hasnt seen it yet. Sure hope she likes it. It's just another idea for a string quilt.

Ellen, very pretty :D Love the colors and the way you split the blocks to get a totally different design. Your DIL is going to love it! :D :D :D

How original! I really like this quilt. :) I also like that you used a mono-chromatic theme. It works! Very nice.
