I love doing these types of quilt but my friends think I am nuts. I have mine at the quilters right now. It turned out 96 x 106.5". I also made the back scrappy using strips of fabric. I love it and hope it is back in time to put in the quilt show here in a couple weeks. They are so fun to make and give you such freedom and they are addicting, right?

Beautiful, did you start with making log cabin block? I love scrappy quilts.

Best way to spend a Sunday. I worked on my D9P and am trying to figure out how to set it. I have two ideas but have no time to execute them now.

Love, love, love your crumb blocks. I call mine "mile-a-minute, but same concept. You have to work on whatever you are in the mood to do in order to be the most productive. The back will be there when you get to it! :)

Yes, I started in the center with a small block and worked my way around, I cut a straight edge after each addition so I wasn't fighting with it. As you can see, lots of the straight edges were at an angle, and I didn't necessarily add the strips in the traditional log cabin progession.
My blocks are 8 1/2 inches, just because I have an 8 1/2 inch square ruler that makes it easy to trim them up. Easy is good in my book.

I've made crumbs in block sizes of 6 1/2 inch, 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 cuz those are the sizes of my sq rulers too.

For me, the easiest size to work with was 6 1/2 inch or 8 1/2.

But I enjoy making them any size. It is just mindless fun, a real 'stress buster and stash buster'. But sometimes it seems that I have more crumbs left than what I started with ... they multiply when you aren't looking, LOL.
