I dont live with my bf, but during summer break when my teens go see their father I spend those days at my bf's house. Of course, I cant quit sewing!! :) He does have a lovely Singer I can use (and do on weekends I am there and dont want to haul my stuff over) but since I will be there 10 days this stint, I have my sewing space all set up. :) And I even have his elk to keep me company as I sew!!

I hope you and Mr Elk have a great time sewing together :D:D:D

owlvamp 06-16-2011 07:03 AM

Very cozy place to sew.

star619 06-16-2011 07:08 AM

That's all you need...a big enough space to sit, have a machine, and cuttinig & ironing area.
The moose, er...elk, is extra!

MellieKQuilter 06-16-2011 07:11 AM

Funny story about the elk.. when bf and I started dating (two years ago, my twins were 12) we spend Thanksgiving together, and it was the first time my girls had been to his house. On the other side of the wall that Mr Elk hangs on, is a utility room... so, the twins are admiring Mr Elk and asked where the rest of him was... to which bf replies, well, the other side of the wall of course. They couldnt stand it, they had to run and check! :) We still laugh about that.. :)

Candace 06-16-2011 07:11 AM

I wouldn't be able to work with it staring at me!

I almost like it better than my space at home!! :) I live in a small townhouse, so this space is great! And not cluttered since I only bring what I will be working on. :)

He gives me great ideas!! ;-) lol... just kidding.

nanababy 06-16-2011 08:04 AM

I would not like sharing my space with the wildlife, but right now I am sharing it with any guest who may come along..

dltaylor 06-16-2011 08:08 AM

That's nice of him to give up his space so you can still sew

Chasing Hawk 06-16-2011 08:09 AM

Maybe you can use his antlers as a spool holder.

MellieKQuilter 06-16-2011 08:10 AM

Well... he has a whole other living room. :) He is blessed with a lovely, large home. :) So, I dont have to take up space or interrupt TV time for him or his girls. Like I said, Love this space more than my own!

Fun. You have company during your creative time.

GreatStarter 06-16-2011 09:06 AM

It looks like a wonderful "temporary" sewing area. Enjoy being there and I hope you get lots done!

Kat

Nanababy, you do know that some guest could be considered "wildlife"!!!

Sewfine 06-16-2011 09:20 AM

Nice, bright and cozy space for sewing and quilting while Mr. Elk inspects as you go.

Jim's Gem 06-16-2011 09:27 AM

Looks like Mr. Elk is guarding your sewing machine!!!
I hope you get lots done!!!

fabric_fancy 06-16-2011 09:49 AM

i'd have to take that head down it would give me nightmares.

Harmony 06-16-2011 09:51 AM

I'm not sure I could sew very well if I felt like I was being watched all the time! At least he doesn't talk constantly!

MellieKQuilter 06-16-2011 09:54 AM

I honestly dont even notice him anymore. :)

Grinster 06-16-2011 10:16 AM

That animal is just begging for some decorating! How about white Christmas lights or you could do a 4th of July theme. In my first lifetime (marriage) my husband got a deer and it had to hang in our living room. I adjusted by decorating the dang thing. My current husband does not hunt and I love him for it!

lol... that would be interesting! This is just one of many of things he has on his walls. I dont mind it (it is his house..:)) Plus, I enjoy eating the meat, so its a bonus for me!

craftybear 06-16-2011 01:43 PM

SEW 06-16-2011 02:19 PM

I love it! Mr. Elk can give you his opinion on your quilting efforts!

LeeAnn 06-16-2011 02:27 PM

Mr Elk startled me. lol. Nice space, I wouldn't mind sharing space with him. Do you ever feel like he's watching you?

valsma 06-16-2011 02:31 PM

So if the elk doesn't mind sharing the space, why not? Besides if something goes wrong with your quilting you can blame the elk.

Nope! Not at all... the only thing he does is get in the way when I unplug my machine. I have smacked my head on him more than once! lol

I love sharing the space with Mr Elk. It is nice a quiet and pleasant truly. Better than my quilting space at home!

I will have to keep that in mind about blaming him... he probably was the culprit for my thread getting all loopy on my first line of quilting I did last night on that quilt on the table... had to pick it all out. UGH. :)

dixiebelle162002 06-16-2011 02:44 PM

  Mr. Elk is your quilting inspector; so keep everything to a scant 1/4 inch!!!!

QweenBee 06-16-2011 02:46 PM

I thinkthat is the "Watch Moose" instead of the watch dog! LOL Nice!!

New Quilter 06-16-2011 03:59 PM

That quilt inspector(Mr. Elk) is HUGE!!! Happy quilting...Naomi

Krystyna 06-17-2011 03:07 AM

That's some elk! He must be awfully proud of it.

SueN 06-17-2011 03:31 AM

Someone (thing) to talk to. Hope he's a good conversationalist.

jad1044 06-17-2011 05:09 AM

A built-in quilt policeman, who will not be "on" your quilt as you work - have a great time! :)

Stitchit123 06-17-2011 05:47 AM

I'll have to show that stuffed Elk to my furry QI and let her know thats what happens to snotty inspectors
