gaigai 02-19-2010 08:30 AM

dg, that is absolutely gorgeous!! Is that a commercial pattern? Do you know where I could find it?

Quilt4u 02-19-2010 08:33 AM

Wow!!!! You two did a Beautiful job on it. Beautiful.

barnbum 02-19-2010 08:52 AM

Oh my gosh--I LOVE that quilt!! It has both my favorites--log cabins and flowers!!! Well done!!!

I want to bookmark it--NOT that I'd ever attempt such a masterpiece, but I sure do want to look at it again and again. :-D

gaigai 02-19-2010 08:53 AM

OH Karla, I almost pm'd you to look at this. I knew you'd love it.

barnbum 02-19-2010 08:59 AM

:-D Thanks for thinking of me! I actually played with this idea--flowers appliqued in the center of floral log cabin squares--but I'd never go farther than seeing it on the computer.

I could look at this one all day long. :-D

dglvr 02-19-2010 09:44 AM

http://www.homestitches.com/patterns.html
I found the book with the flower patterns.
The Log Cabin background, the sides and corners were Pam Clarke's design.

MissTreated 02-19-2010 09:51 AM

Woo-hoo! That's gorgeous! You must feel so good!!!!!

dunster 02-19-2010 10:11 AM

I really, really love that quilt. The log cabin corners really set off the applique.

stillwaters 02-19-2010 11:22 AM

How sad - I hate to hear of a LQS that closes! My son is Graduating from Gonzaga in May (YAY!!!!) and we'll be up that way. Are there other quilt shops in the area that I should visit??
I just love your quilt, too!! Gorgeous! Did you choose your own fabric? Thanks for sharing!

You could PM me and I'll come be your guide.
Were ever at the Log Cabin? Someone took that over and now there are vendors there. I'm not sure how to give directions to it. Its in a weird place in an industrial area.
I'm an hour from Spokane so would love to come do a Spokane shop hop

Oh, your offer is SO tempting! But my husband and I will be traveling with my parents (who are in their 80's) .... so I doubt I'll really be able to do much shop hopping. I just thought if there was a great shop in town, I may get to sneak away for an hour or so - between Baccalaureate, Graduation, and receptions. LOL Thanks for the sweet offer!

Bailey's mom 02-19-2010 12:10 PM

Double wow!!!

Quiltbaby 02-19-2010 12:20 PM

Your quilt is amazing. I am a beginner and I have made a flanned quilt, but I am embarrassed to put it up when I see so many pretty quilts in this forum.

You said the site where you got the pattern is closed. Is there any other way to get those appliques. They are awesome.

Well what area of town are you going to be staying at.
I'm sure I can direct you to atleast 1. There is 1 not to far from
Gonzaga that is 1 of my favorites in Spokane

stillwaters 02-19-2010 12:38 PM

Ooooo!!! We're staying at the Inn at the Park. Near downtown, the river, Gonzaga ... and our son has been renting a house on Hamilton for the past 2 years! Thanks!

It wasn't a site it was an actual store. I posted the site where
Pam Clarke is now earlier in this post where the book is. The book is only the flower patterns. Pam gave us 2 1/2" strips every month if we came in with our blocks finished for the Log Cabin Block. Also the sides and corners are not in the book.
The book is by Jan Halgrimson 100 Applique Quilt Patterns.
AND SHOW YOUR PROJECTS I'm sure they are beuatifal.

Okay here are directions to Sew EZ Too. Go north on Division street there by where you'll be at. You'll go to Garland which is 39 blocks north (I use to drive the city bus) and take a left on Garland and its 6 blocks down on the left.
603 W. Garland (509)325-6644. You'll love it there.

Quiltbaby, NEVER be embarrassed to show off your work here. There are no quilt police, and everyone was a beginner once upon a time. So please, DO post a picture of your quilt. We would LOVE to see it, wouldn't we genties & ladelmen?

Sorry, but I'm keeping this one. It will have to go where I go.
I actually found a quilt rack at Goodwill a few months ago for $3.00. I'll be using that to display it.
